I appreciate you raising this concern to us, and I understand that you're having issues with your Surface. You got me here: we'll isolate this issue together.
Here are things you may try to fix the issue:
- Make sure your Surface is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates > Install > restart device.
- Try unpairing the Bluetooth mouse and restart device before pairing it again.
- Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.
- Download drivers and firmware for your device: Download Surface Pro 8 Drivers and Firmware. from Official Microsoft Download Center
- You may also try pairing the mouse in a different Surface and see if issue persists.
