Hi all, I am having issue with my type cover when it is tilted up. The screen will show "auto rotate on" and automatically switch to the touch keyboard. Please advise as I am unable to use the type cover as per normal now. Many thanks!

    Hello QWG,

Thanks for reaching out Microsoft Community and posting your concern here.

Please try to disable auto rotate manually on the settings or action center. You can open Action Center using the Windows key + A keyboard shortcut or clicking the icon in the notification area of the taskbar. Click the Rotation lock button. On the other hand, go to Settings, click on Display under Scale and Layout turn off the RotationLock toggle switch.  Also, try to run **Surface Diagnostic Toolkitand check forWindows Update.**Restart the Surface after installing updates. Updates have fixes to common problems, or issues.

Also, if you don't want to have the auto rotate feature we suggest to disable it via registry or simply follow these steps below:

    • Open Start. Search for regedit and click the top result to open the Registry.
    • Browse the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation
    • Double-click the Enable DWORD and set the value from 1 to 0. Click OK. Then, restart your device to apply the changes.
