Driver error after firmware update

Split from this thread.

I have a similar issue with my Surface Pro 4. I think the driver error occurred following the most recent firmware update that I installed on 9 August 2018.  Windows Update has not provided any new updates since that. I'm going to try and be patient and wait until an updated driver or fix comes through. Others have reported that they have held touch, pen or typecover issues since installing the recent firmware updates. I do not have a pen and touch and the typecover appear to be working okay for me.

    Hi Trevor,

If the updates for the Surface Pro 4 were not installed accordingly, it may result to performance issues. What we recommend you do is uninstall these updates by going to your update history and uninstalling all updates added on August 09, 2018. To do that, go to Settings > Update & Security > View installed update history > Uninstall updates.

After removing the updates, download and run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. The tool will install the updates in the correct order to make sure that the device will be able to load the updates properly. Go here for more information and to download the tool. Perform a forced shutdown afterwards by pressing the power button for a full 10 seconds. As you restart the Surface, it should be able to run the software without any issues.

If you have other concerns, please respond to this post.

    Regards.

Thank you for your response Ruz. I have also been posting to another thread in this subject. Here is my last post from the 15 August:

The MS updates last night came with some system software updates. They included the Surface Integration driver again. Having installed those, I have updated my Surface Integration driver (I had rolled it back, so it doesn't automatically update) and it is all working now. I was previously reluctant to use the manual update package (as other have done), as I couldn't see the one that fits the Windows version I have.

So I haven't needed to do the un-install and use the toolkit.
