2025-04-22T16:48:48+00:00 I am having so many issues with my Microsoft Surface Laptop, 7th Edition that has Snapdragon. It is absolutely maddening!!! I’ve been a loyal MS client and only buy Surface laptops. From the minute I purchased this new laptop months ago, I have had issue after issue. I wish I never purchased the surface laptop with snapdragon.

2025-03-20T02:47:19+00:00 Hello, Trevor Jolly.
Welcome to Microsoft Community!
Thank you for posting your question here.
The Surface Laptop 7 does come with a Snapdragon CPU, and based on this hardware feature, the system architecture of the device is ARM64. I noticed that you are trying to use a printer in the device, so here's what you need to be aware of in an ARM environment. Please allow me to share that support link with you:

You also mentioned another worrying situation.
Your device freezes with the mouse flickering when connected to the Dock or an external screen. Normally we would recommend users to use a Surface-specific docking station, Surface Dock series products. This will minimize compatibility issues.
Perhaps you can also let me know which Dock model you are currently using here.
I would like to confirm with you if this problem occurs when the device is connected directly to a monitor, or when it is not connected to a monitor?
If the mouse does not freeze when the device is not connected to an external monitor, then we can narrow down the issue to the Dock.
If the mouse freezes even when the device is not connected to an external monitor, then we will continue to investigate a possible fault with the Surface Laptop 7.
Faulty drivers, or hardware issues can cause this problem. Then you can troubleshoot any potential driver failures by manually installing the drivers for your Surface Laptop 7:
Download Surface Laptop 7th Edition from Official Microsoft Download Center
Please reboot your device after the download is complete to apply the driver update.
Make sure that the touchpad is clean and not affected by strange heat sources or electrical currents. The above steps usually work if the problem stems from the driver.
If the Surface Laptop 7 mouse flickering persists, then we have to consider whether this is related to a device hardware failure.
As I am not in a position to directly assist you in debugging your device, I recommend you to contact the Surface Technical Support team for more efficient hardware service.
I share with you the steps to create a service order here:
Open the Surface App (usually built into your Surface device, or you can download it from the Microsoft Store if you don't have one) and follow the procedure below:
- Click "Help and Support" and then click "Get Help".
- Briefly describe your problem in the text box, such as "The Surface cursor keeps flashing", and then press Enter.
- Click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
- Select "Surface Laptop" and click "Confirm".
- You will see "Chat support" and "Phone support" options, please contact them during working hours, you will get one-to-one support services.
If the problem stems from the Surface, then the above is a complete troubleshooting step.
I will assist you in further identifying if the issue is related to your docking station based on your progress.
So if you have any new findings after referring to my troubleshooting suggestions, please don't hesitate to let me know, I'm here to support you.
Best Regards.
