Windows Update on Surface RT 8.1 Searches forever or returns error 8007000e (Resoluted)

Simple Solution: Download and install in following order; reboot if required to do so. Do not start Windows Update until all steps are completed.

  8. Check for Windows Updates or look in the lower right corner in the notification area (flag icon) of the taskbar. If anything about updates found, you're good to go. You should always run Windows Update at least every month and install them as possible to keep your PC up-to-date. Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter if there are any problems and restart PC after. Disregard the solutions provided by other pages and sites as they are giving confusing and inaccurate info.

    After doing a reset my Surface RT 8.1 was locked out of Windows Update.

    Tried many other solutions, but only this worked perfectly. Now doing updates.

    Thank you so much!

    Now if I could find a fix this good to get my touch screen working!
