Surface Pro turns black after update

Hi,

I turned on my Surface Pro this morning and it had some updates.

After set update the Pro booted up I saw the "Surface" written followed by the circle if dots that moves around on a black background.

I see this for a couple of seconds and then the dots freezes.

I use face recognition to log in and I think I'm logged in as I can hear Skype turn on. However I can't see anything as my screen is black. I can however see my mouse courser...

What to do and I really need it up running a.s.a.p. as I use it at work.

Cheers.

    try a two button reset:

    ________________________________________________

Step 1:    Press and hold the power button on your Surface for 30 seconds and then

    release it.

Step 2:    Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same

time for at least 15 seconds and then release both.

The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons

down for at least 15 seconds.

Step 3:    After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds.

Step 4:    Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You

    should see the Surface logo.

Black screen doesn't necessarily prevent you from using your computer.  E.g. you can attach another monitor and use it with Second Screen Only (Win-P, CursorUp, Enter); you can use Remote Desktop from another computer; you can use Narrator to tell you what you could be seeing on the black screen (Win+Ctrl+Enter).

I appreciate your input to help me solve my matter, however it didn't work.

I brought it to a technician who formatted my Surface and he said most likely it was a system file that went corrupt probably after an update..

I'm up and running again with a freshly formatted HDD.
