Keyboard not charging pen

I bought a surface pro 8, a keyboard, and a surface slim pen only 6 months ago. Pen has stopped charging on my keyboard and was at 0%. I placed my pen in my friend's surface keyboard and it charged to 95%. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps and nothing works. I have checked for and completed all updates. It is clear that it is my keyboard that is not charging my pen.

The pen and keyboard both work perfectly fine except for charging.

Do I need a replacement keyboard, pen, or both? (it is still under warranty)

    Hi Abbyjennings,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.

I'm aware of the issue you're encountering with charging your Surface pen using your Surface Pro 8 keyboard. I value the time and effort you have given out, especially in trying to resolve the problem.

Given that you have tested charging the pen to another Surface and it charges, the issue is most likely with the charging storage in the keyboard. You must replace the keyboard (type cover) on your Surface Pro 8. As much as I'd love to help you with this it's just that we don't have enough tools here in the community to proceed and provide the best options for you. Any replacement process is beyond our support boundaries here in the community. We recommend reaching out our live support team to check available options. You may reach them by following the instructions below.
