Surface book 2 Screen bulge right top side

Hello,

I have a Surface book 2 I bought in 2018, but over the last few months, the screen on the top right side is bulging out beyond the case.

It fees like the battery is in the left side of the screen, so I feel like it is not battery bulge. Could it be that the adhesive used to secure the screen has worn down. I can see when I look inside, a bit of stringy glue.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you

James

    Hi jamesvandenberg,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry to hear that the right side of your Surface Book's screen bulged. We take this type of concern very seriously.

Bulging on the screen is typically the result of an expanding battery inside. When a battery expands from deterioration, it's most often caused by the formation of non-flammable carbon dioxide (CO2) gas.

If your device's battery has expanded visibly beyond the mechanical enclosure, we recommend that you stop using the device.

We recommend reaching out our live support team to check options for your device. You reach them at Contact Us - Microsoft Support . Choose your preferred support method and type in the problem you need help with. Then select Contact support.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
