I would also like to point out that as a security stand point, having NFC on such a device could allow network administrators to implement a smart card authentication approch. instead of having to buy third party add-ons. Which in turns is another good selling point to the surface category. Microsoft Hello is not easily adaptable to a lot of different infrastructures (ex: linux/bsd or older windows infra). And I don't see a small business investing that much money to implement this type of security.
Where is NFC on Surface Pro 3?
There seems to be NFC chip on Surface Pro 3, but according to iFixit, it is not enabled. Did anybody have more luck with it? I was trying to pair Surface with Sony's NFC on CD player. It works like a charm with mobile phones, but it doesn't recognise NFC on Surface, if there is any.

2016-02-05T09:10:09+00:00 Thank you for your reply. It is shame because it allows you to connect instantaneously to any Bluetooth device and there are plenty of them today. Especially speakers. Hopefully, they will change that in the next iteration because evidently there is a NFC chip on board.
