Surface Pro 7 drawing wavy lines

I recently bought a Surface Pro 7 and I decided to get the Wacom Bamboo Ink for a pen. I tend to do a lot of work in Photoshop and other Adobe programs. I've noticed that when I draw slowly the line gets very wavy even if my hand is steady. This is more obvious when I'm drawing diagonals or anything that isn't vertical or horizontal. I know that this can be an issue with some tablets and touch screens, I've even seen it to some degree on ipads and some phones, but this seems like a pretty extreme case of it. When I make quick strokes its not as severe.

Wanted to know if this was likely caused by the Surface Pro or the pen. I have my machine completely updated on version 1909, I've run the diagnostics tool and it didn't solve the issue, pen has a new battery, and the machine is fully charged with best performance settings. Image attached below of what the lines look like when drawing slowly.

    Hi SEllis98,

    Thank you for your response.

Do you have any other pen you can try on the Surface device? This is for us to really determine the point of failure since you already uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers I have suggested.

If no other pen, you can run theSurface Diagnostic Toolkitand if no changes after running SDT, please resetyour Surface device.

Once done and the pen still draws wavy lines then, we really have to test other pens on the Surface device or try the pen on other apps for us to isolate this issue.

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread for assistance and please let us know if you reset the Surface device or whatnot.

    Kind Regards,

    Crest_Z

    Hi SEllis98,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

We basically need to check what's the point of failure as to why this issue exists and if the problem is with the pen, we are unable to further assist you with that since it's not a Surface Pen.  So, to initially troubleshoot the issue, I highly recommend to unpair/re-pair the pen.

Once done, I'd like you to:

    Open Device Manager

    Expand Human Interface Devices

Look for the touch and pen drivers available and select "uninstall device".

    Touch Drivers are:

    Intel Precise Touch

    HID- Touch Compliant

    Pen Digitizer | Pen Settings

    Expand Firmware

Right-click on Surface Touch and select "uninstall device"'. Please leave the box unchecked if you'll get a pop up before uninstalling the drivers. Once everything is already uninstalled, please restart your Surface.

Once it restarted and the pen is also paired, go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and you  can re-configure it by checking this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4036281/how-to-use-your-surface-pen. The one you're using is not a Surface pen but you can try to reproduce the things that you can with the pen.

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if you need further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

Hi, thanks for the response. I tried following the directions as best I could. Couldn't find "Pen Digitizer | Pen Settings" in the device manager, but the rest I did. No luck on fixing it though, lines are being drawn same as before.

I got my hands on a Surface Pen. The issue is much less severe with the latest Surface Pen, there is still a slight waviness when I am drawing slowly but one that is acceptable for my work. I'll mark this as answered.
