Hi Safra N,
Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.
I am aware that you are having issues using a dock to connect your Surface laptop to two external monitors. I am here to help and let us work on this together. Allow me to ask some question.
- What kind of dock did you use to connect with your Surface laptop?
- What is the make and model of the external monitor?
- What version of Windows are you currently running?
To separate the monitor from the ultrawide display, kindly try the following steps below.
- On your desktop, select Display settings by doing a right-click.
- Click on Detect after swiping down to the Multiple displays section.
- Click the second monitor once Windows has identified it, then choose "Disconnect this display" from the Multiple displays drop-down box.
This should detach the monitor from the ultrawide display.
For other troubleshooting guide, follow the solution provided from this article Troubleshoot connecting Surface to an external display - Microsoft Support.
Kind regards,
Lavenia
