Charger head for original charger

Hi,

I bought a Surface Go while travelling in Malaysia but I want to use the European version for the head of the standard (and seemingly universal) original charger that was in the box when I get back home. But how do you call such a "thing" officially and where can something like this be ordered? I probably described it using the wrong words when searching as nothing relevant shows up... :-(

Thanks much!

    Hi, drftr!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We are sorry to learn you have issues looking for the "head" of your Surface charger. Thanks for letting us know about this. I am here to help you out.

You bought the brand new Surface Go with a charger in Malaysia. You wish to use this in Europe. If I may ask, which part in Europe do you wish to use the device to charge?

Our charger can be used anywhere around the globe since its voltage is from 100V to 240V and is compatible with a 50hz or 60hz power outlet.

What you will need is a power plug adapter that will fit into the wall outlet in Europe. If you frequently travel in multiple countries, it is beneficial to get a universal power adapter. You can check online for most stores that would sell this. All you need is a power adapter that plugs into an outlet in Europe.

We hope this helps you out, we highly encourage you to inform our Community by clicking on Yes or marking my post as an answer. This will help other members who may have the same issue as you. Otherwise, don't hesitate to update us so we can further assist you.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks very much...

I live in the Netherlands but won't need an adapter. I can just take the UK type top of the charger off and replace it with a Euro type. I'm pretty sure they exist otherwise Microsoft wouldn't have issued a charger like this but one with the plug integrated in the charger instead. I can just slide it off. It works smooth but I need some power. Looks like an excellent construction!

So I wonder how/where to replace just the top part.

    Tnx...

    You're welcome, drftr.

We're glad to know you like the product. Your Surface Go charger looks like this image below.

You can plug it to an EU Plug adapter that looks like this.

We hope to have helped you out!

    Regards,

The charger I have is different. The one you show doesn't have a replacable head. Apart from that, if you put in the terribly heavy Microsoft wall charger (it must be close to half a kilo) it will drop out in a split second. That's exactly the reason why I want the European duckhead for it so I can pull off the UK top part and replace it. I'm looking for that replacement.

I found a picture of the Microsoft charger that I have here:

The awkward looking part I can slide off.
