Can someone help me or explain to me for this problem? After installed window 10 anniversary,  my pdf thumbnail icon disappear and all pdf thumb turn to basic icon. I cannot see front cover thumbnail. I've tried installed adobe reader last update, right click and choose open with... and choose all of pdf program in my choice, that result nothing happen.

In normal, i choose open with... and choose Reader app(from win store) that turn all pdf thumb to front cover icon for me so I'm happy about it. Now all of Reader, Adobe reader, Foxit phantompdf, Foxit reader, Xodo,Sagethumb, Adobe reader fix, do nothing to to me. Only solution now is to click open in Adobe reader wii show front cover thumb, But not my best solution

Another person have problem like me?

I'm not good in Eng. language, so sorry about that, please help me.

To help resolve the .pdf thumbnails issue, we suggest to uninstall the update which may have installed incorrectly and triggered the issue, in this case, the Anniversary update. Once uninstalled, manually install the latest updates again. This will ensure that the current drivers and firmware are running. See the steps below to uninstall the update:

    1. Open Control Panel.
    2. Tap or select Programs and Features.
    3. Under Programs and Features, tap View installed updates on the left corner of the screen.
    4. Select the update which is causing the issue, and then click Uninstall.
    5. Restart Surface after uninstalling the update.

Once the Surface device has restarted, manually install the latest updates by following the steps under Update Surface and Windows and Download and install Surface updates manually sections on this link.

Keep us updated on your progress.

When you are choosing on the options to open the .pdf file, have you tried checking the box that says Always use this app to open .pdf files then click OK? If not, please do so and check if the thumbnail image will show on all the saved .pdf files.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi,

We'd like to know the following information to assist you further:

    1. How many PDF reader applications are currently installed on your device?
    2. Just to confirm, do you want to set one PDF reader to open all of your PDF files?

Does any of your PDF files open instantly or you still have to choose on which application will open your files?

    1. What is the current PDF thumbnail that you're seeing? Please send us a screenshot or image of the issue for checking.

    answer:

     1. I have 5 programs: Xodo app, Reader app(from windows store both), Program Adobe reader last ver., Foxit Reader, Foxit PhantomPDF. I always use Reader app to view PDF

quickly and simply, and use Foxit phantomPDF for editing.

     2. So I always set Reader app to open all PDF,it always change thumb to picture front cover. Every time I double click any Pdf file(can all see pict. cover) it wil open my file to read instantly(that is very fast app and very good)

     3. My PDF thumbs now is like pict. attachment below, first visit after update it was "all" basic thumb and after i try many ways i think after i rebuilding "index" in "indexing options" window, some of pdf thumb can show as you see "Small animal practitioner ECG.pdf" that is what i want bacause i can see pict. cover from  all pdf file.

Thank you so much for your reply, Hopefully  that you will reply to me again, sir.
