2016-10-24T04:25:03+00:00 To help resolve the .pdf thumbnails issue, we suggest to uninstall the update which may have installed incorrectly and triggered the issue, in this case, the Anniversary update. Once uninstalled, manually install the latest updates again. This will ensure that the current drivers and firmware are running. See the steps below to uninstall the update:
- Open Control Panel.
- Tap or select Programs and Features.
- Under Programs and Features, tap View installed updates on the left corner of the screen.
- Select the update which is causing the issue, and then click Uninstall.
- Restart Surface after uninstalling the update.
Once the Surface device has restarted, manually install the latest updates by following the steps under Update Surface and Windows and Download and install Surface updates manually sections on this link.
Keep us updated on your progress.
When you are choosing on the options to open the .pdf file, have you tried checking the box that says Always use this app to open .pdf files then click OK? If not, please do so and check if the thumbnail image will show on all the saved .pdf files.
Let us know how it goes.
