Hello,

I recently bought a shure microphone and my laptop is not detecting it as an input device but as an output device. It registers as headphones despite it being an input device.

I have already updated my firmware and verified my drivers, so that step is out of the way.

What should I do next?

    Hi, Mark77711

Thank you for contacting us on the Microsoft Community Support Platform!

Your issue is: Plugging in a microphone is recognized as a headset

Sorry for the inconvenience, this may require the Realtek Audio Control driver to set the hardware requirements for the device. You can download Realtek Audio Control by clicking the link below: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/app/9p2b8mcsvpln However, since this device may be a third-party software service, if you are unable to use this software on Windows 11, it may indicate that the software is currently not compatible with Windows 11. You may need to contact the software developer and inform them of the problem and try to fix this compatibility issue.

If you do not understand or have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
