Cannot set password on Microsoft Surface.

I have a Surface Pro 11th Edition, and I'm trying to set a text password. However, the option doesn't show up in the account settings where it should. When I try to search it ('Change Password' does show up in the search autofill), it brings me to a page with no password option. Is there a separate setting I need to activate, or am I simply unable to use a password on this device? Thanks.

    Hi Clancy,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting password on your Surface Pro 11th Edition.

To set Password on your device, In your current settings page, Turn off "For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (Recommended)".

Note: The For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device setting will be grayed out if you do not have a Windows Hello (ex: PIN, facial recognition, or fingerprint) sign-in option available.
