1.=> yes,I am trying to connect the Surface dock to a Surface Book 2 Clipboard alone, and the dock even can not charge my surface book 2.

2.=> connect the Surface dock to a Surface Book 2, and my mouse connect to dock.

    Hi MaxWang1,

Thank you for your response and we really do apologize for the inconvenience. Just to confirm, does it also happens when you connect the Surface dock to your Surface Book 2 (Clipboard combines keyboard base)? If yes, how about the provided charger that came with your Surface does it charge? Also, haved you tried a different Surface dock?

Dirty connectors on your device may cause your Surface Book 2 to stop responding or crash when its connected to the Surface dock. Here's how to clean your connectors:

    1. Disconnect the power cord from your Surface Book and unplug any video adapters and USB devices such as printers, keyboards, and mice.
    2. Detach the Clipboard from the keyboard.
    3. Wet a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol (use 95 percent isopropyl alcohol or higher if possible). Use the swab to clean the silver pins on both faces of the three connectors, located on the top middle surface of the keyboard hinge. Rub the swab back and forth vigorously, and use a fresh swab surface to clean each of the six connector faces.
    4. Check that the pins are dry and that there are no cotton fibers or small objects on the connector.
    5. Reattach the Clipboard to the keyboard.

If your Surface dock doesn't work even to charge your Surface Book 2 (Clipboard or Keyboard base), then this might be a hardware failure. We suggest that you contact our Microsoft Support for you to have an option for possible replacement.

Let us know if you need further assistance,

    Loyd G.
