Surface Book 3 Doesn't have smart charging settings

Caring for your Surface battery (microsoft.com)

When we access the site above this paragraph, Surface Book 3 is marked as supporting all smart charging features(including 80% chrage limit). But there's no options or settings with my surface book 3 and surface app.

(I've changed smart charging options on surface pro x, but there's no options with surface book 3)

I would like to ask how I can use the smart charging function. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I understand how important this feature is for your device.

As per article, when it comes to using the feature, you have nothing to worry as the Battery Smart Charging is always active and turns on automatically to limit battery charging to 80% when it detects your device is plugged in for prolonged periods and/or used at elevated temperatures.

For the other Surface devices that support Battery Smart Charging but don't have an asterisk (*), a battery with a heart icon won’t appear. To fully charge your Surface, you'll need to follow the Battery Smart Charging steps in Surface features to optimize your battery longevity.

My Surface app has always been latest version, and I also plugged in my connector for 24 hours, but smart charging doesn't work.

My friend, surface book 2, is also in same trouble.

I wonder if it can be improved so that smart charging settings always appear in the Surface app on devices that support smart charging... 😥

In that case, let's ensure that Surface Manage Extension is installed. Try going to Surface Management Extension - Microsoft Store Apps and manually install it.

I've always updated Surface, Surface Managaement Extension, and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit application to the latest version, but I haven't get that smart charging feature... Thanks for your continuous help...

Have you also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Surface app?

If not yet, I'd suggest to do so.
