Can the Surface Pen with no Clip connect to Surface Go's.

Recently my surface pen has stopped inking and even with a tip replacement it still doesn't work. I can use the eraser and is able to connect with Bluetooth, and I am wondering if my issue is because I have a Surface Go 2 since I have noticed in other threads that "Unfortunately, Surface Pen is not compatible with Surface Laptop Go" and "Surface Laptop Go 2 does not support pen input". However, when I go look on the Identify your Surface Pen and features (microsoft.com). Under the drop downs for the Surface pen with no clip, it says it is fully compatible with all the Surface Go models. I am just looking for clarification on which answer is correct and also for any advice on my issue of my pen being unable to write.

    Hi Kevin Z_0707,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We appreciate for sharing your concern to us.

The Surface Pen with no clip is compatible with Surface Go, Surface Go 2, and Surface Go 3. It supports pen and inking, Bluetooth, magnet attach, and tilt. So, it should work with your Surface Go 2.

Knowing that you have already tried changing pen tip and your pen still doesn't work. There is more likely a hardware problem on the pen itself.

    • Is there a chance for you to test the pen on another Surface or test another pen on your Surface device? To really determine the problem.

For troubleshooting guide, see Troubleshoot your Surface Pen - Microsoft Support.

If pen also doesn't write on another Surface, then your pen needs a replacement.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
