The clicking noise is loud and annoying, especially if I am using my computer in area needing quiet.  Is it possible to disable the noise?

    Hi C.Waz,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry but the clicking noise is by the design of the touchpad, similar mechanism with a mouse. We could not disable the clicking noise but I have here a suggestion. How about you use the Tap to select function of the touchpad? So that in case you are in a quiet area, you don't need to really click the touchpad to select, you just need to tap it in which it wont give a loud noise.

To enable this feature, go to Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad. Under Taps, you can adjust the Touchpad sensitivity and enable the tap functions for your Touchpad. Among of these functions are:

Tap with a single finger to single-click

Tap with two fingers to right-click

Tap twice and drag to multi-select
