2016-11-08T18:10:59+00:00 It seems that my new Surface is using 3 times the amount of data for streaming that my Samsung tablet used is this really true? or I am I running something in the background at the same time that is sucking up all my data. I use ATT with over 20 gb of data and I have streamed for only 4 hours with the Surface and have gone over my allotted data this never happened to me with the tablet. With the tablet I could stream for over 10 hours with my data and still have rollover. Is this really true that the Surface is a data sucking machine?
It's not your Sp4, it's Windows 10 that uses lots of data, it's designed that way. There are ways to minimize all that data usage. Here is a good article that give advise on this subject and how to analyse what apps are using the most data. http://www.howtogeek.com/249254/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-using-so-much-data/
Also, some streaming services adjust the bandwidth used depending on whether you are using a tablet or a pc or allow you to do so manually. Your sp4 would be viewed as a pc not a tablet which may account for the increased data usage.
