Surface Book 3 Detach Problem

Question

I just bought a Surface book 3 15'' and it doesn't detach and shows the message "latch failed to open". You can see the right hinge detaching but the left one doesn't detach and I cant detach it by force either.

I tried all the troubleshooting solutions and many others as well but no luck.

If you JUST bought it, return it for a refund and repurchase. Don't exchange with Microsoft as you will get a refurb.

Yes I indeed in fact just bought it. The thing is I bought It from amazon and I don't live in the US so how can I replace it?

You need to contact Amazon to arrange a return. You can certainly use a phone to contact support https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051701/global-customer-service-phone-numbers - ask for Surface support and discuss your situation and options. Use the phone numbers listed under *For Business Users* for your location (these also work for consumers/home users). Surface does not have an International warranty, so you may have limited options.
