I recently notice that the surface pen on long press ( which is the double click ) doesn't work with google chrome as well as the browser freezes up . The only ways to clear things up , one has to use the mouse/touch pad and works fine . I have a surface pro and a surface pro 3. Does the same thing . I had to reset my Surface pro . Does the same thing .
The Microsoft Edge works just fine .
I know for a fact that the long press and the freezing was not like that in the past with chrome since it is my default choice of browser. But I occasionally use the pen.
FYI . I also have the old surface pen and the new one . have the same exact issue .
I wonder if others have noticed that ?

I think it is a Google Chrome bug. For about two months using a pen with my Surface pro 4 within the browser freezes it. As it was working fine with previous Google Chrome versions I hope it gets fixed soon. Switching tasks makes the browser responsive again.
I also have encountered this exact same issue. The pen works perfectly in the Edge browser, but Chrome is my preferred browser. Something happened about a month ago (update or otherwise) and now my pen no longer functions within Chrome. I'm eager to have it fixed as I'm using a less preferred browser in order to support my pen. Following this thread in hopes of a solution!
I have the same problem with Chrome becoming unresponsive when using the pen. Like the previous posts- the problem started a few weeks ago. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
