    Hi mooks2004,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.

    We suggest the methods below:

    • Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows Update.
    • Run the System File Checker.
    • Check for driver errors. Go to device manager and expandUniversal Serial Bus Controllers driver then verify if there are errors.
    • Install the drivers package. Check the specific OS build of your Windows SettingsSystemAboutDownload the driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Laptop 4 and click download on the next page. Please choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next. After the download, runand installthe .msi then Restart the Surface Device.

    Hi John

No luck with any of this. I’m quite shocked to read if I put in a warranty claim my machine will be replaced with a refurbished one. My Surface is only 3 months old. I don’t want an old refurbished one. How can I just get mine repaired and returned.

    Thanks.
