Update GPU driver on Surface Laptop 7

Hello all,

Where can I get a updated gpu driver for the surface laptop 7 past 31.0.57?
I am trying to install davinci resolve 19 which has support for the snapdragon x elite chips.

When I try to run it, it gives me an error that it was unable to initialize the GPU with opengl.

They instruct users with this error to contact the manufacturer for an updated driver.

In Windows update, I am showing up to date and no optional downloads for any drivers.

The Surface application did not show anything either.

Where can I get an updated driver for this to get DaVinci Resolve 19 to work?

    Hello BillDolan,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I fully understand your need to use DaVinci Resolve 19, but in response to the issue you mentioned here, please allow me to kindly remind you to download and install the version for Windows ARM.

Based on the search, we noticed that the software should be compatible with arm devices:

The Surface Laptop 7 is powered by the Snapdragon x elite chip, which is arm based, so I'm guessing that the problem is most likely related to the mismatch between the software versions you installed.

Check the installation guide for DaVinci Resolve 19 to see if you're facing the same problem once you've installed the correct version of the software.

There are no publicly available drivers and firmware packs for the Surface Laptop 7 since its release, but if you're still having problems running DaVinci Resolve 19, I recommend reporting the issue to Blackmagic Design:
