Slim Pen 2 no longer charging

I purchased my signature pro keyboard in January 2022 to go with my surface pro-9. A few weeks ago, my Slim Pen 2 stopped charging and died (0% on the Surface app). I tried all the troubleshooting tips, including removing the device from my computer but of course because it can't be charged, I can't connect it. My Surface pro keyboard used to charge it but that seems to not be working. I am not sure what else to do. Either my keyboard charging system is faulty or my slim pen 2 is faulty. It appears that many people have been having this exact issue with their Slim Pen 2, which suddenly stopped charging within this past year. Is there a solution?

    Hi CD,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It sounds like you're facing a common issue with the Slim Pen 2, especially since it's not charging despite being connected to the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard. Here are a few steps you can take to further diagnose the issue and attempt a solution:

    • Check Keyboard Connection:
    1. Clean the connector pins on the keyboard and the port on the Surface Pro to ensure proper contact.
    2. Ensure the keyboard is charging correctly by connecting it to the Surface Pro while plugged into power. Verify that the Surface Pro and the keyboard are functioning properly.

If these steps didn't resolve the problem, you can request a replacement Surface Pen. Go to Device service and repair, sign in with your Microsoft account, and select a Surface or register a new device.

    Your Sincerely
