Thinking of purchasing Surface for my son...can a monitor, and cordless mouse and keyboard be connected and if yes, what is the method.

    That should work, as long as the wireless keyboard/mouse don't require a download to work, the Surface RT has Bluetooth and a USB port.

    You'll need to use one of these adapters for the monitor:
