Surface Pro 7 Camera Foggy / Burry / Washed Out Picture and Video

I always noticed that the camera on this computer isn't awesome... but my husband and I were both in the same Zoom meeting side by side and I realized my camera is DISGRACEFUL compared to his. I feel like my camera's picture looks like it's stuck in the year 2000.

My husband has the Surface Pro 2017 (5) and I have a NEWER, more expensive Surface Pro 7. His picture is SO MUCH CRISPER AND CLEARER than mine! I would describe my picture as foggy / burry / washed out.

What's the deal here? My camera driver is up to date. I have yet to update to Windows 11 but from what I've read online, I don't think that will fix it. I feel like Microsoft should be giving free webcams to anyone who purchased a Surface Pro 7 since I've seen quite a few threads with complaints about this! We are living in the COVID era where webcams are one of the most important components of our machines... video conferencing programs are our #1 way to communicate and meet, professionally and personally!!!

Please help!

Thank you for posting your inquiry here in Microsoft Community, sandra.n.e.

I'm sorry to hear about the camera quality issue. I will do my best to assist.

Can you please try to take a video or picture using the built-in Camera app and see if the issue persists? Does this happen to Front and Back Camera? Try to refresh the camera through UEFI. Check if the camera glass is dusty or foggy.

Turn off the device > Press the volume up then the power button > On the UEFI, go to devices > disable front and read Camera > Exit and restart > go back to UEFI then Enable them back.

If the issue also still persist on the built-in camera app, please reach out to the Customer Support and get your Surface device replaced. Try the methods below to reach out the Customer Support:
