My Microsoft Surface screen suddenly has a thick black line (about 1.5" wide) along the left side of the display.  I have tried restarting the computer, but the line is still there.  How can I get rid of it?

first thing to try is to go into Device Manager and uninstall (but do not

delete) the Intel video DISPLAY ADAPTER and then restart. This will reload the

video driver. If this does not work, if you rotate your Surface from landscape

to portrait, does the black line move to the new left side?
