10s , then 30s + volume up don't work.

Now what? It's been charging for a whole night.

Not the first time I had this problem, but last time the battery was depleted. I doubt it's depleted now.

Also battery drain seems a big issue with this type device.

I have to rate this as the worst computer I've ever owned.

    Hi maurice_topkek,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Surface Community.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Surface Pro 4 this is not the experience that we want you to have.

We do have some questions that will help us narrow down your concern.

    • Is there a light on the tip of the charging cord that illuminates when plugged in and connected?
    • You can try reorienting the connector on the device, it should work in either direction.  Also try plugging into a different outlet.
    • You can try using a different power supply with your Surface, and another Surface with your power supply.  That can help determine where the problem is.
    • Does the Windows button vibrate when touched

If yes , you can try to Simultaneously press the Windows logo key  +Ctrl+Shift+B.

If no, please try these steps below.

1**. Press** and hold the power button for 20 seconds.

    2.  Leave the Surface plugged in to the power supply included with the device, but remove all peripherals connected to it, including the Typing Cover, accessories, adapters, external monitor, and microSD card and disconnect Surface from the Surface dockif used. Then try to turn on the Surface normally.

However if the issue is still there after doing the steps above then  this could be a hardware issue already and  you try these options below.

Contact support or you can go to the nearest Microsoft Store.

    Keep us posted,

    Kind Regards,

    Maurice,

Did you get a resolution to this issue?  My Surface Pro4 will not charge either despite the charging cord being lit.  When I attempt to force a restart, I see a dead battery sign on my screen.

    Thank you.
