Surface Laptop 4 Does not work with Logitech Rally Bar Mini (BYOC) or Logitech Swytch

I've searched for 3 days, been working with Logitech on this for two, and am at my wits end. We're having issues with Surface Laptop 4s and our Logitech systems for conferencing. Logitech systems work great with Surface Laptop 2, Surface Laptop 3 (AMD + Intel), a well as Asus and HP systems (don't have models, our vendors had them). I have downloaded the installed the most current driver/firmware package from

A little background: we are finishing up the remodel of our office, and have installed Logitech hardware in our huddle and conference room spaces.  We have 4 conference rooms running the full setup (Rally Bar Mini, Tap Controller, Swytch) with integration to Teams or Zoom.  The remaining ~15 rooms are BYOC with a Rally Bar Mini.

We’ve done some additional digging and looks like we’ve narrowed it down to the Surface Laptop 4.  We have two scenarios:

  1. BYOC Setup – these are small huddle rooms with a Rally Bar Mini.  Issue: When we connect the SL4 (via HDMI and USB-A), the SL4 doesn’t detect the Rally Bar Mini for audio or mic.  Windows starts to run sluggishly, and both Zoom + Teams crash.  If you can get Zoom/Teams running, they do not detect any audio options (including laptop mic/speakers).  Workaround: We were able to resolve this by uninstalling the RealTek Audio Driver and allowing Windows to reinstall the base driver.  This is not a scalable solution (205 clients).
  2. Zoom/Teams Integrated Rooms – these are larger conference rooms with a Rally Bar Mini, Tap Controller, and Logitech Swytch Issue: Teams/Zoom Room integration works fine.  When utilizing the Swytch for BYOC, we have the same issues as above.  When we connect the SL4 via the Swytch (USB-C or USB-A), the SL4 doesn’t detect the Rally Bar Mini for audio or mic.  Windows starts to run sluggishly, and both Zoom + Teams crash.  If you are able to get Zoom/Teams running, they do not detect any audio options (including laptop mic/speakers). Workaround: None.  We have not found a workaround for this issue.

    Hello JT 11,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear about this issue on your devices. I totally understand how frustrating it is to have such problem in this set-up. Please do know that this is not the experience we want you to have.

Before we come up with a feasible resolution for this, I need to ask some questions first for us to further investigate.

    1. Are these devices connected to a domain of your organization?
    2. What version and edition of Windows these devices are running?
    3. What processor do these devices have? Intel or AMD?
    4. Is this your first-time setting up on Surface Laptop 4?
    5. When the Logitech camera is connected, do you see it on Device Manager?

In the meantime, please try running these methods below to ensure the devices are updated:

    Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, then select it in the list of results.
If it's not already installed, you can download it from the Microsoft Store.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions in the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

Update Windows. Ensure all pending updates are installed.

    • Check for Windows updates. Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Kind regards,

    StevenK

    Hey StevenK,

Before we come up with a feasible resolution for this, I need to ask some questions first for us to further investigate.

    1. Are these devices connected to a domain of your organization? Laptops are domain joined, yes.
    2. What version and edition of Windows these devices are running? Windows 10 22H2
    3. What processor do these devices have? Intel or AMD? Intel 11th Gen i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz
    4. Is this your first-time setting up on Surface Laptop 4? No. We have approximate 60 SL4s deployed organization wide.
    5. When the Logitech camera is connected, do you see it on Device Manager? Yes, we see the Rally Bar Mini when connected.

Diagnostic Toolkit and Windows Updates are confirmed current.

    Thank you,
    -JT 11

Thanks for keeping me posted and for confirming some information, JT 11.

Since these devices are domain joined, and the issue happened on multiple devices, it would be best to raise this concern to our commercial support team. Kindly submit a support request via Support for business (microsoft.com).

Rest assured; these devices will be taken care of by the commercial support.

    Best regards,

    StevenK

We also just updated our office with logitech rally bar and rally bar minis. We're experiencing the same issue with our Surface Laptop 4 devices when connected. The machines get sluggish, audio output devices are not accessible and no audio options are presented in Teams options... We've opened a support case on Logitech's side as well.
