I have a version 2 Microsoft Display adapter. I connect via my surface pro 3 to a projector.
The image is dim (not the projector: connecting via a wired connection is fine).
Is there some way of adjusting the brightness of the external monitor (projector) via my Surface Pro 3. I cannot adjust the brightness of the projector itself (on the ceiling of the classroom!)
The brightness control on my display properties adjusts only the Surface Pro 3 screen.

I, to have this issue.
Adjusting the brightness on my Surface does nothing to the image being routed to the adapter and then put through my projector and the image is about 2/3 the brightness I get when connected by regular HDMI.
Any fixes planned for this? So far, I'm pretty disappointed with the Display adapter. I've had so many issues with it. The investment in the hardware and time to troubleshoot, fix, attempt connections, uninstall drivers, reinstall drivers, Microsoft updates break it...After finally getting it working again and have it be this dim is really disappointing.
Thanks for the reply. It's frustrating, because the image is remarkably dim. Connecting to that same projector via the display port makes for a much brighter image. Somehow the Display adapter is just hard-coded for a dimmer image. It doesn't make for good presentations.
