why doesn't the microsoft accessory center show the adaptive hub as connected?

I just got the Microsoft adaptive hub today and connected via Bluetooth. it is on and I have two 3mm adaptive buttons plugged into it but it will not detect in the accessory Centre. I have heard from many reviews that the accessory Centre barely works judging by the many one star reviews, am I just out of luck here and need to return it?  I will put this under surface since there is no category for adaptive technology as Microsoft does not care about disabled people except where their marketing is concerned.

For future generations if you have something like joy2key or REWASD installed, you need to remove it for the Microsoft Adaptive Hub to be recognized by the accessory center. Case closed.

I have neither of these installed and the Adaptive Hub is still not recognised by the Accessory Center.

Make sure the firmware is up to date. Other than that, its a complex issue hard to troubleshoot. And I'm no expert sadly.
