Surface Book Temperature

Question

I've recently purchased a Surface Book i7/256gb/8gb. While I really like this machine my concern is with how hot the unit is getting. The very back center of the clipboard screen gets extremely hot; even when it is not under that heavy of a load.

I had CPUID Monitor up and running and it is showing temperatures anywhere from 88c(190f)  to 97c (206f). All that was running is windows media creation tool and edge.  Since the media creation tool finished; temperatures have returned back down to 40 to 45c.

Now just want to know if these temperatures are normal or not... and if I should be concerned... as they do seem to get into that 88 to 97 degree range especially when using Photoshop.

In my opinion to Microsoft should look at apple OS X and find out how apple mac do not get hot with long battery life. so Microsoft said 12 hours of battery life! I do not see that promise.

I have the same machine as you and have just recorded 88/100/99 for core 1/2/Package.  I thought max operating on 6600U was 100.  I'm a little concerned, but haven't seen any adverse impacts, yet.

I have been having the same issue, but now my screen is starting to develop a yellow shaded color all the way around the edge of the screen. I'm very confused by this, and am getting very annoyed/frustrated with this progressing yellow rim around the edge of my screen. I need answers!!!!

you need to return that, it is a known defect, they only appears when the device gets hot, it is not a rare problem, so you will have to rely on luck even if you  get it replaced.

I spent a great deal of time trying to get the dealer/distributor to replace it for me , (**** distributor btw, if there is a Microsoft store in my place I would not have even went into the distributor store let alone getting one there) but I have seen people saying that they get it replaced easily, so I guess it depends on the staff in the stores

I still have black screen when I put surface book in sleep mode!! It happen to me yesterday! Also I own the device since the released day and I did one time replacement, but 10 month until now still happening. I am so angry about that  and I do not know what else I can do.! I am juat give up ! I think I am going to buy the New MacBook pro, but I already spent all my money on surface book $1700 :(
