Hello, Bella Davies.
Welcome to Microsoft Community!
Thank you for your description of the incident. Your Surface Pro 8 may have gotten water in it, or there may be physical damage.
Based on the behavior of the charging indicator, perhaps we are still able to charge this Surface Pro 8?
Have you tried force starting this device after charging:
Press and hold the power button until the Surface shuts down and restarts, then release the power button when you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds).
If you are still able to start the device, please observe how it behaves and you can continue to describe the symptoms to us.
If we end up not being able to start this device again, we will need to perform a liquid damage repair. I will share with you the steps to create a service order :
- Use your personal Microsoft account (not your organization account) to access the following links:
- Type Surface Liquid Damage, press Enter, and click "Contact Support" at the bottom:
- Select Technical Support and select the device model (Surface Pro) you are currently using in Product family, then click Confirm:
- You will see contact options for Chat support and Phone support, please contact them during business hours:
I wish you all the best.
Best Regards.
