It has removable batteries, not chargeable ones. https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/hardware-and-drivers/troubleshoot-surface-pen-pro-4

Does anyone know how to charge the stylus for the Surface Pro 4? I can't seem to get the cap off in order to get to the usb port. Thanks!

Got it! Thanks for the link. The problem is that I can't open the cap. It doesn't twist at all in order to get to the battery. Will have to contact customer support.
I'm curious. Did you really go through your pen battery?
The SP4 pen is rated for 12 to 18 months of use.
Not yet, but I would like to be able to know how to change the battery when needed. Went to online tech support and the woman told me that it charges while it is magnetically linked to the tablet and the tablet is in charging mode... That is completely wrong.
