Keyboard backlit on mouse movement?

Hi!

It would be useful to have the backlight of the keyboard when I move the mouse, as it happens when I touch the touchpad.

I never know if the Caps is on or off when I start typing for example. Since I use a mouse most of the time, having it lit up the keyboard would make things more user-friendly.

Or am I missing something in mouse or keyboard settings?

Thank you!

Thank you for posting your inquiry here in Microsoft Community, BogdanChipara.

The Surface Books have backlit keyboards and you can keep them enable, just toggle FN key then press F2. The F1 lessens the level of light on the keyboard.

For the Caps, there's a little dot on the upper-right corner that light up when Caps lock is enabled.

Let me know how this goes on your end.

I apologize for the later response. Just to confirm, BogdanChipara you want your external mouse to wake the backlight of the Surface Book base keyboard just like when you touch the touchpad, correct? If yes, I'm sorry but the the external mouse has a separate driver from the keyboard and we could not use it to wake the keyboard backlight.

We would appreciate if you could spend time to write a feedback to the right channel through Feedback Hub app about this setting.
