The paint on the back off my Surface is flaking and peeling off.  I was installing an invisible shield and the back paint started to peel off.  Can I claim this defect with my Surface under warranty?

    Hi Xavier,

Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the paint chipping on your Surface RT. To determine if it's covered under warranty, I would suggest taking it back to the point of purchase and having them inspect it or you can contact Surface Technical Support here and have them determine if it is covered under warranty.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks for contacting me Steven!  I appreciate the support..  I went to the Microsoft store in person today and in less than 5 minutes I was walking out with a brand new surface.  No questions asked and no hassle.

    Hi there Astrocuff.

Thanks for reaching out.  I am sorry to hear you are having issues with the paint on your kickstand. If you are in the United States or Canada and purchased MS Complete then you can submit a claim on our Online Service Center. Alternatively, if you did not purchase MS Complete, you can still submit an out of warranty claim and pay for a replacement.

For more details and pricing I'd recommend checking out Myservice.surface.com.

I hope this is helpful, please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Kindest Regards

    Exchange.

Simply put Microsfot will exchange your old Surface with a new Surface.

Two options, Standard exchange ( you send in the Surface, the techs look at it, send another one back

Advanced exchange, you contact Surface support, at the following ling

    http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/support/home

And they will send you a new Surface ( with probably a Credit card hold) and then yous end in your old Surface, hold is cleared when MS gets the old Surface.

Yeah, exactly the same issue here.  The logo on the kickstand is starting to look very sick. You can see the issue in this photo:  http://sdrv.ms/XgzUsE

I spoke to MS support on a webchat and they're investigating apparently and once they've figured out what causes it, they'll replace them.  Mine is kept in a neoprene sleeve so maybe it's some sort of reaction with that.

    Hello Everyone,

I've had my surface for about 2 days now and I'm noticing that the windows logo on the back flip cover is beginning to rub off. It's almost in an artistic kind of way to the point that I'm question whether it was ever a full logo or not. My bet is that my memory isn't that bad and I'm noticing the wearing. Is anyone else affected? In the two days I've babied this thing so please don't assume i'm rubbing it all over the place; and honestly I don't know if i'd mind if it rubbed off completely.

    Thoughts?

Yes, mine has worn down as well...very upsetting considering it's brand new. It almost looks like there's paint splatters on the Microsoft logo...but there's no visible gouges or anything. It's as if paint just wore right off. Anybody else experiencing this?

Mine is doing this, too, and I've been very gentle with it. No big deal, but seems odd.

Mine is too - wear is showing in little striations on the right and left side of the logo (mostly left).  I've been pretty careful with it, only in my backpack once and twice with my boyfriend in his workbag with his laptop.
