Night Mode Not Turning Off On MY Surface Pro 8

Hello all, my night light is set to go off at 8am, I've just turned on my Surface Pro and it is staying on (it is 9:30am here in London) I checked the settings and it even says that it it is 'off until 8pm'. This happens more often than not.

Other community answers say to check if there are updates, run the trouble shooter etc. These standard checks have all been done.

    Hi Benjaminnnnnn,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that the night light feature did not work as expected. I appreciate the effort in performing the troubleshooting methods.

Please also perform the methods below:

    • Force the device to restart. Press the power button for 20 seconds while the device is turned on.
    • Try to sign-out then sign back in. Go to Surface logo > Find the profile's logo > right-click then choose sign-out. > check if the issue still persist.
    • Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.
    • Run the System File Checker.
    • Refresh the Intel Display driver. Go to device manager > expand Display adapter > right-click the display adapter then choose uninstall > restart the device.
    • Install the drivers package manually.
    • Check the specific OS build of your Windows SettingsSystemAbout.
    • Download the driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Pro 8 and click download on the next page.
    • Please choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.
    • After the download, runand installthe .msi then Restart the Surface Device
    • Try to update the PnP Monitor (Standard). Go to device managers > Expand Monitors, right-click the active "PnP-Monitor (Standard)" > Click Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Choose "Generic PnP Monitor" > Finish everything, sign-out and sign back-in.

Let me know how this goes.
