__ Original Surface Pro __

w/ Microsoft Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

Upgraded to Windows 10

The VGA adapter is not being discovered via Control Panel - Display - Screen Resolution - Detect

I can't find any support files/drivers on the Microsoft Support site - where can I obtain the drivers?

Any other ideas on how I can encourage Windows 10 to find the adapter and add a second monitor/VGA Projector?

    Hello Bob Heitzman

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the MDP-VGA adapter for your Surface Pro.

With the MDP adapter connecting Surface to an external display that is powered up, check for updates and install.

Take a look at Device manager.  Are there any banged out or Other devices showing?

Try different cables and adapters, see if your connection improves.

    Best regards

Turns out Automatic Updates(AU) was stuck on 31% after the upgrade. I ran the reset script and two "Hardware" updates came down - no discrete drivers. The adapter was not plugged in when AU ran. I plugged in this AM and it worked. Another AU didn't find drivers but the device is working fine.

May problem for not checking that all updates were installed before testing. I'm pretty sure I ran all the updates after the upgrade but that was a month+ ago.

BTW I also tried the StartTech triple adapter long ago with Win 8 and it didn't work. The device was labeled for Surface Pro 3 so I gave up. The device now works with the original Surface Pro and Windows 10.

    Thanks!
