Using my Surface Pen with my PC

Hi,

I love using the OneNote to do my engineering homework on my Surface Pro 4, but it overheats very easily. Is there anything out there which will sync with my PC so I can use the Surface Pen to write with? Can I just use the pen on a clean/blank white board and have it connected to my PC ?

    Hello TC_F355,

Thanks for posting your concern here.

Your Surface Pen might be compatible with Windows 10 PCs and other devices that support Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP)—not just Surface devices. But note that your pen and inking experience will vary slightly based on your PC or device manufacturer and the Surface Pen you use with it. Go to the website of your device manufacturer to see if it supports MPP.

After checking your device, you'll need to check which Surface Pen you have. If you're not sure, go to Identify your Surface Pen and features. In order for the pen to work with your device, the MPP should match with your Surface Pen.
