So, I updated to the 4/19 firmware like many of you did, but my dock problems persist. In a last ditch effort to figure the cause since I am getting no assistance from Microsoft and my posts are getting moved into a 7 month old thread, I decided to get
download the Surface Dock Update Utility to manually flash the firmware.
To my joy, it said my firmware was out of date.... meaning the updates through Windows Update apparently are not pushing the firmware changes to the dock for whatever reason. A glimmer of hope! Well, it was short lived, as I proceed through the process,
the firmware is ready to start its update.... immediately fails.
The logs go like this:
Installed MCU firmware version: 0491C270.
Installed DP firmware version: 048B0670.
New MCU firmware version: 0491C270.
New DP firmware version: 04915A70.
Start updating DP firmware.
DP firmware update rejected. Reason=InvalidMcu
Does anyone have any experience with this tool? Clearly the dock isn't getting all the firmware updates.. in this case the DP firmware is quite a bit behind. It could be a big piece of this.
Thanks in advance!
