Surface Pro 8 Daisy Chaining to 3 monitors via USB-C (built in screen disabled)

I currently have a Surface Pro 5 i5 with USB-A. That is connected from the USB-A to a StarTech USB3DOCKH2DP dock (thats 1 x HDMI and 2 x DisplayPort out) which drives three 24" displays in an extended format. The Surface Pro's own display is disabled and this works extremely well. There are no other connections to the Surface Pro except the charger.

I intend to upgrade to a Surface Pro 8 and 3 new monitors that have USB-C in and DisplayPort 1.4 In and Out ports. I intend to use a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable to connect to the first monitor and then use DisplayPort cables to daisy chain the other 2 monitors again disabling the Surface Pro's own screen. The monitors I intend to use are Dell 24 USB-C Hub Monitor - P2422HE.

Is there any reason why this will not work (before I spend £2-3k on this setup). All omments appreciated.

    Hello Francis Phillips,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

May I know which set up your referring to that is not working? was it when connecting the monitors to Surface device or when disabling the Surface device display screen, nothing will show on the external monitors display? I haven't tried this set up yet but I'm willing to help you getting answer to your queries.

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

I'm somewhat in the same boat, but my goal is to connect 4 monitors to a single Surface Pro 8 (Business with LTE). I have three working with a display 1.2 chain, but the fourth doesn't quite look right; resolution ought to be 1080p. Perhaps there's a hardware/signal limitation, but 3 external monitors (+4th if you count the Surface) definitely work.
