Files won't move to a subfolder, just creates a copy

Whenever I am trying to move a file or folder into a subfolder it will not move it. It creates a copy of the file in the subfolder but the original still remains. This is very frustrating as I then have to go back and delete the original file or just have the initial folder have hundreds of files in it. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi DrewKiraly,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.

To easily move a file to a specific folder, try using the cut and paste method. Select the file (that you'd like to move) > Right-click the file/files > select Cut > Go to the folder where you want it to paste, right-click the field once you're inside the folder > select Paste.

If you're transferring bulk files, select all the files that you'd like to transfer then do the same steps above.

Let me know if this helps.
