Surface Go pen pressure sensitivity in SAI

I just recently got the Surface Go and i wanted to use Painttool SAI as my drawing app.

However the pen pressure doesn't seem to work in SAI, but works in apps such as Adobe Sketch, etc.

I've tried to download the wintabx64 driver from the surface pro 4 but it doesn't have seemed to help.

Is there a way to fix this problem? I've seen the problem being fixed with the surface pro 4, but I haven't seen anything with the surface go.

    Hello Raymond,

Thank you for posting in our community. We're here to help.

You may try to resolve the pen pressure issue in the drawing app that you're using by installing the Wintab_X64_1.0.0.20 on your device. Please go to this link, click/tap Download, select Wintab_x64_1.0.0.20.zip and click Next. After downloading, open the zip file and run the WinTab_Setup_64 application.

Note: The download page that you will be redirected to will get you to the Surface Pro 4 Drivers and Firmware download page. Please don't be confused. I would only like you to download and install the mentioned application. Additionally, your Surface Go should also be switched out of Windows 10 S mode before you can install a desktop application. You may go to this link for the steps on how you can switch out of S mode.

If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after installing the aforementioned application , please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

I have this issue and the download did not fix the problem. Pen pressure is still not functioning in Paint Tool SAI. I am using a Surface Pen, model 1776

Hey there friend! So I'm not 100% sure this fix will still work as I don't have a Surface anymore, but when I had my SP4 and wanted to use Sai, I found that downloading Photoshop (NOT the photoshop app or Photoshop Mobile, it has to be real photoshop) would usually download whatever was needed to get pressure sensitivity with Sai. Once you download photoshop you'll need to restart your surface and pen pressure should now work. After confirming that you have pressure sensitivity, feel free to uninstall photoshop; at least that's what I did.

That being said, the other option is to download Sai ver. 2, which is tablet pen tab/wintab enabled and available on the official Paint Tool Sai website. I personally purchased ver. 1 so I was able to get the full version of ver. 2 free. I know most people just use the """free""" version of Sai, but if you really like drawing on your surface and want to use that particular program, I would shell out the $40 it costs to get the full program. You can test out Paint Tool Sai ver. 2 for free before you make any commitments.

Option 3 is to just get Clip Studio Paint. I personally still prefer Sai's main brushes, but it doesn't take much to get some really excellent brushes for Clip Studio and the application is much more expansive with plenty of tools for all artists.

Hopefully my trick still works and you're able to get the pressure sensitivity you're looking for!

    Heya!

So I've finally bought SAI for the first time but I'm having trouble figuring out how to update SAI with SAI2? I've downloaded the update but my icon for SAI still says Sai ver. 1

I just got myself the Surface Pro 6, I also already own CSP and the pen pressure works perfectly fine on it but not for SAI. I'm having a really tough time figuring this out, any help appreciated, thank you <3!!
