Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear that the typecover and pen of your Surface Pro 8 stopped suddenly stopped working.
How about the touchpad of your typecover, does it still work or not also?
You mentioned that you checked on the UEFI already, did the typecover worked on the UEFI screen or not? To do the test, you may select Date and Time option in the UEFI screen then try typing anything on the New date and time space provided. Make sure to delete any inputs after then exit UEFI.
When you go to the UEFI menu, select Devices also then see if the Type Cover port is enabled.
If in case the typecover does not work also on the UEFI screen, this is likely a hardware issue already. I suggest contacting our live support for options available and for further assistance. You may contact them through the Surface app installed on the Surface by following these steps:
- Open the Surface App and select Help & support > Get help.
- Type in the problem you need help with.
- Look at any available solutions offered and select Contact Support.
