Surface Pro 4 Red Bar unlock icon + No UEFI access

I am stuck with a red bar unlock icon and surface logo, UEFI its also not working. I believe that this happened after a windows update.

I have tried all combinations but was unsuccessful.

  1. Combination Vol up and power instructions.
  2. Combination Vol up and power instructions.
  3. Keyboard shift and power.
  4. Keyboard vol up and power.
  5. Keyboard vol down and power.
  6. Recovery usb image.

Appreciate your help.

Raj

    1. Shut down your Surface.
    2. Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface and at the same time, press and release the power button.
    3. When you see the Surface logo, release the volume-up button.
The UEFI menu will display within a few seconds.

This is the correct way to access the UEFI

If successful, turn on secure boot.

    Hi Rajesh,

The only other thing I would suggest, is after shutting it down that you wait at least 10 seconds to be sure it has completed. If you try to do the steps too quickly, they won't work. Here are the full steps to try:

If it helps, you may also watch a video of the steps at How to use Surface UEFI - Microsoft Support

    Hope this helps,
