Surface Book Model 1705 won’t power on

Laptop was working fine today amd came back to it this evening and it wont power on at all.

I have 2-3 power cords for it and none seem to work. I have white power lights on all of them so i dont believe it is the power cords.

Keyboard backlights dont come on at all either. Only other light is the detach button to remove screen. It is either constant red (if i have the power cord in the sot just right) or it has no color lit up and i can click on it and it flashes green a few times.

im also hearing a faint click about every second or two coming from the power port on the laptop. As i said, the power light is on the charger but i cant ever get the Surface logo to evem come up.

after hours of messing with it, i was able to see the backlit keys for about two seconds so im holding out hope.

only way to detach screen is to do so with a paperclip in the sides to release it.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive done all the power down for so many seconds and use the volume button too.

    Hi Jeffmcd28,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

Please follow these steps first to troubleshoot the issue and to try to turn your Surface Book on:

    1:Wake the display

Plug in the power supply and confirm that the tip/LED is lit

Press these keys simultaneously: Windows key + CTRL + Shift + B

You may also use the Volume up and down buttons by pressing them at the same time in 3 quick successions

    2: Remove all extra peripherals

Leave the Surface plugged in and confirm that the tip/LED of the charger is lit

Remove all other peripherals including SD cards, USB drives and etc.

    3: Force Shutdown

Press and hold the Volume-up and Power button at the same time for 20 seconds

If still the issue persist, please try step 3 again while you plug the power supply on the second charging port of the Surface Book (located at the bottom of the screen) since you are able to disconnect the clipboard/screen from it base.

If still the device is not turning on, please contact support through our Global Customer Service phone numbers to check for replacement options available for your Surface Book.

Ive tried all of thise things several times. Ive also tried #3 while it was plugged into the tablet itself and still nothing. It seems strange that with a power cord in both the tablet and the keyboard unit, i cant get either to respond at all. Tablet wont come on separated and the keyboard wont light up anything when its plugged in itself.
