    Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I understand how important this preference of yours.

    For me to better understand your concern, I'll be asking some questions first:

    • May I know what version of Windows your device is running?
    • Were you using the touch keyboard?
    • May I know what do you see when you type a word?
    • Do you mean the words will be replaced with an emojis? A screenshot of your issue would be helpful. Please send it here.

    In the meantime, try going to Settings > Devices > Typing > Click Advanced keyboard settings under More keyboard settings > then check or uncheck "Don’t close the panel automatically after an emoji has been entered" and see if that makes a difference.
