Please give these troubleshooting steps a try to isolate the issue:
- **Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update.**Restart the Surface after installing updates. Updates have fixes to common problems, or issues.
- Run System File Checker in Windows 10.
- Perform a Memory diagnostic. From Search, type Memory Diagnostic and run the Windows Memory Diagnostic program. Check Windows stops responding on Surface for more info.
- Force a shut down and restart your Surface. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. It resets the hardware and clears all the cache and memory for your hardware.
