Hi hullkr,
Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.
Does the mouse and keyboard you'll use connects through Bluetooth without any dongle needed to be plugged in?
The Surface Go 2 uses its USB-C port for external monitors. Since your external monitor has HDMI connection, you'll need a USB-C to HDMI adapter. This is if you don't need to plug in other peripherals like a dongle for your mouse and keyboard. Please note also that for best results, we recommend using a n active HDMI cable. See these page for more details: Connect Surface to a monitor | Set-up a Surface USB-C to display adapter.
If in case you need to use more ports for your set up, please check other Surface Dock 2 which is compatible with your Surface Go 2 and connects through the Surface Connect port (charging port). The Surface Dock 2 will then provide you more ports you can use for your Surface Go 2 set up. See this page for more details: Identify Surface Dock and features.
